Noggin at Loxwood, Tuesday 10 September 2014

This Noggin was organised by Bob and Pam from our social team. The original plan was a Noggin in three stages:

Lunch at the Onslow Arms Pub in Loxwood

A visit and boat trip on the Wey and Arun Canal, Loxwood, to include a speaker

A walk along the tow path of the Canal

Sadly the boat trip was cancelled by the Wey and Arun Trust as the water level in the canal was not high enough to allow the boat to proceed.

However 19 members decided that despite this they would still like to have lunch at the pub so the Noggin went ahead and we had an excellent lunch in this lovely pub right by the canal. After lunch we decided to walk the tow path to see how much of the canal had been cleared for navigation since we were last there around 2 years ago. We were amazed at the amount of clearance that had happened and it now takes 30 minutes to walk to the current furthest point of navigation from the road.

Thanks to Bob and Pam for organising.
